I've worked in software, I've built static webpages (like this one!) and data-entry tools with a visualization platform. I really shine when I can see what people are doing, and provide solutions that do the same thing faster and with less errors.
Highly Trained Skillset
Physical and Data Security
Diverse Work Experience
I have 3 main educational achievements:
- BA in Psychology from Laurentian University
- Computer Programmer Diploma from Georgian College
- Cyber-Security Graduate Certificate from St Lawrence College (in progress)
I've Been trained by the Canadian Military:
- 2 Project management style courses
- Basic Training, Infantry Officer Training and loads of Administrative training.
I've also:
- Completed 2 French Language Certificates at l'UQAC
Software Developer (2 years) Caranci Consulting - Barrie Ontario
- Mostly in AL and C/AL for Microsoft 365 and NAVISION. Lots of backend work communicating with a SQL database for real-life business solutions.
- Started out as a Co-op, but I really excelled and they brought me on full-time
Canadian Armed Forces (4 years)
- I've been a leader in the CAF for a majority of my time here, I've done loads of administrative roles during the week, pushing paperwork. On the weekends I would run ranges, platoon attacks and so much more.
- I often use my computer skills to query large amounts of data and create technology solutions to increase our total work output.
- This is a "Professional Hobby" but I received regular force training and participate as much as I can.
Security Consultant (6 mo)
- I was contracted to create a Data Driven application that communicated with Power-BI so the client could send reports back to their employer.
- It was Rapid Application Development and introduced me to the world of working on my own.
Other Roles
- Throughout University I worked a lot of different types of jobs, the first of which was working on an assembly line. These kinds of jobs shaped where I was going because it changed how i got to look at things in comparison to people who didn't see that world. When I was asked to create a program that read SKU numbers, I knew exactly what they were talking about. I worked as a Security guard for 6 years, data security is a no-brainer for me and just flows. I've worked in warehouses and I've worked in sales, this base of knowledge lets me help create impactful solutions by giving them a real world context.
I love to have fun programming on my computer, its how I pass the time!
Hopefully soon I'll have my projects page up and running on my website and you can take a look over there.
I use Dax Professionally, and I've also been paid to work in JS, AL, C/AL and whatever language PowerApps is?
Almost all of my side projects are in HTML, CSS and JS, but I've also worked with PHP, C#, Java and C++.
PHP is fun because its similar to JS but is easier to communicate with a server (unless you write in node.js).
C# and the .Net environment are fun to work with because they allow easy integration of data entry and visualization.
